Getting to Tangalooma Resort Launch Departures:
- By plane: Brisbane Airport is 15 minutes drive away, we will give you all details and transfer options on booking confirmation.
- By train: The closest train station is Doomben Railway Station. At the end of the Doomben Line. After arrival, it is a 10 minute car ride to Tangalooma boat terminal for your trip to the island.
- By bus: There is a bus that travels along Kingsford Smith Drive to Pinkenba with stops all the way. Not the best option as it is a hell of a walk down Holt Street to the Tangalooma boat terminal with bags. And it is not a regular service.
- By car: Tangalooma Ferry Terminal is at the end of Holt Street Pinkenba on the river. Paid secure parking is available at Tangalooma Ferry Terminal. Pay when you pick up your tickets at the Ticket Kiosk.
Getting Your 4WD Vehicle to the MICAT Departures:
- By 4WD: Moreton Island vehicle access is 4WD vehicle only.
- The MICAT services Moreton Island and leaves from Moreton Island Adventures based at 14 Howard Smith Dr, Port of Brisbane QLD 4178. We recommend strongly that you book early online via the link at Moreton Island Adventures.
- There is 24 hour fuel at AMPOL Service Centre Port of Brisbane, 2 Kite Street, Port of Brisbane, Lytton 4178. Great service centre where you exit Port Drive to continue into MICAT departure point. Fuel, air, small convenience store inside, food – restaurant & takeaway inside.
- You will need a National Parks permits. Ensure that you refuel vehicle before departing Port of Brisbane as there is no fuel regularly available on Moreton Island.
- It is recommended that your vehicle is adequate for the sand island. Good quality working tyre pressure gauge is essential as you will need to deflate tyres on MICAT before driving off the MICAT onto the beach. We set our tyres at 18psi/125kpa.
- Remember to engage “Four Wheel Drive” & “Hub Locks”on your vehicle before driving off the MICAT and onto the beach at Moreton Island.
- There is inflation hoses on the MICAT to reinflate and set your tyre pressures back to normal driving pressures before you drive off at Port of Brisbane. Get these things done as soon as you get onboard so that you can enjoy the Bay for the whole trip.
We accept the above Credit Cards. Fee Applies to AMEX & Diners Club Credit Cards
