Is the Villa on the beach?

  • Sure is, there is only a 30 metre strip of grass and shady trees between you and the beach.

How much is it?

  • Prices vary depending on season  – min 4 nights, stay 7 nights or more and save, check with us for current winter and mid-week specials.

How do I make a booking or reserve a stay?

  • Click SEARCH icon or the email link or call on 0413 896 885, depending on length of stay, a non refundable deposit of $150 -$300 is paid via credit card to reserve your requested time in the Villa. (deposit conditions are at owners discression), this comes off the cost of the stay at the Villa.
  • You will be advised in the confirmation when you are to make the final payment for your stay at the Villa.

Can I see the beach from the villa’s two balconies?

  • Sure can, keep an eye on the kids or relax and enjoy the sunset. Check the passing parade of ships all day and all night.

Are the resort facilities available to guests?

  • Yes, all the resort facilities are available for our guests to use.
  • The Resort requires for security reasons, the name of Reservation holder and exact numbers in Villa, otherwise they may refuse service to you.

Is Linen provided?

  • Yes, Linen is supplied for 4 persons
  • Our average over 23 years consists of 4 persons in Villa per stay.
  • We supply linen for 4 people and is reflected in price quoted. This is an environmentally friendly and cost effective practice for us and our guests.
  • Extra linen is $30 per person.
  • Sheets and bathroom towels can be provided for up to 8 people. We need to know exact numbers staying in Villa 19.
  • The Resort requires for security reasons, the name of Reservation holder and exact numbers in Villa, otherwise they may refuse service to you in their facilities. We advise them before you arrive.
  • Please bring your own beach towels.

I have a Sleep Apnea Machine, is there power points close to beds?

  • Yes, there are power points and either small bedside tables or a cabinet beside each bed.

Where can I see the dolphin feeding?

  • Our guests are welcome to watch the nightly dolphin feeding from the viewing platform on the resort jetty
  • Dolphin Feeding is available through some Resort Packages or on a standby basis at times. Please check at Education Centre early in your stay.

How do I get to Moreton Island? The following options are available:

  • On Foot – Tangalooma Launch – a very comfortable ferry taking approximately 70mins.
  • By 4WD – MICAT vehicle barge
  • Helicopter
  • Seaplane
  • Private aircraft – Tangalooma airstrip is 2kms north of the resort (landing fees apply)
  • Privately owned boats - You are able to take your own boats. (Check with Resort with regards mooring.)

How far is the villa from the Resort jetty were the Tangalooma Launches arrives?

  • Our villa is approximately a 10 minute walk from the jetty.

How far is the villa from where the MICAT vehicle barge arrives?

  • The MICAT arrives approximately 700 metres north of  the villa at the Tangalooma Wrecks. An easy walk along the beach. Not an easy walk with luggage.

How far is the 4WD car park from the villas?

  • The 4WD car park is approximately a 5 minute walk from our villa.
  • Luggage carts are provided for your luggage at a dedicated area near boom gate.
  • Luggage carts of late seem be more plentiful at the rear of the Flensing Deck, Resort picks up the carts scattered through the Resort and return them to an area behind the Flensing Deck. More choice to find carts with good wheels there...
  • To be easier on the 4WD arrivals, Please return luggage carts when finished to dedicated area at 4WD parking area boom gate.

What is stocked in the General Store?

  • The general store stocks basic groceries – milk, bread, drinks, snacks, chocolates, batteries, meat and toiletries, daily newspapers and souvenirs of Moreton Island and the Resort.

Is there a BBQ?

  • Yes, Now 2 BBQ areas equal distance left and right of Villa 19. In front of Villa 5 and the newest flame grille type in front of Villa 30.
  • They are cleaned daily by the resort.

Is there any surf?

  • The Resort side of the island is calm.
  • The eastern side of the island can get surf. 4WD’s can be hired to travel there.
  • It is a 7km drive. The resort also runs Island tours.
  • The beaches of Moreton Island are not patrolled.

Are EFTPOS and ATM facilities available at the resort?

  • Yes, there are both EFTPOS and ATM facilities available at the resort.
  • There are EFTPOS facilities at the reception, shop, restaurant, bistro and bar.
  • There is one ATM, located near the bar.

Medical Facilities.

  • There are no medical facilities or fulltime Doctors or Nurses on Moreton Island, there is an Ambulance Station within the Resort that covers the entire Island.
  • Any EMERGENCIES, dial 000.
  • Please ensure that you have sufficient medication to last well beyond your stay with you whilst on the Island.

Mobile Phone, Tablets, Laptop Chargers.

  • Please ensure that you bring your own chargers and quality charge cords. Please ensure that they are in good condition and fully checked.

 

When is whale watching season?

  • The whale watching season runs from mid June to the end of October.
  • The resort runs cruises during this period.

Is there an internet café?

  • Yes, there is in the café area.
  • Wireless internet is also available throughout resort and at Villa, 4G internet seems to work well in and around the Villa & Resort.
  • We use a Telstra SIM that seems to work very well in and around the Villa and Resort.
