Your trip down the river
Keep an eye out for the different boats and infrastrucure as you cruise down the Brisbane River. Fort Lytton on the Southern side, Port of Brisbane and into the bay. "Did you know there was once a beautiful little sand island at the mouth of the Brisbane River, popular with boat loads of day trippers until the Port of Brisbane swallowed it up... Bishop Island"Across "The Bay"....
Can get rough at times but not always, usually just right. You will notice the Cruise Boats, Cargo Ships, Navy ships and yachts coming in and out of the channels. Views to Mud Island, St Helena, Green Island. Moreton Island straight ahead with Stradbroke Islands off the southern tip of Moreton Island. Keep an eye out for the birdlife "people watching" from the shipping beacons. Lots of Dolphins, sometimes Whales, Sea Turtles and Dugong closer to the islands...On the Island Via the Resort Launches...
Leaving the Resort Launches on arrival at the Resort, depending on the time, Pelicans and Shags on the beach and overhead lights. At night Dolphins coming in for a nightly feed... The sounds of the Whistling Kites high up in the Norfolk Pines across the front of the Resort. Walking to the north, past the Minimart and down past the Restaurants, Coffee Shop, Bistro and Reception. Keep going past Flensing Deck, Tennis Courts and then the Villas start.MICAT landing point Tangalooma Wrecks
(Make sure you have reduced the tyre pressures in your 4WD before leaving the Barge. You do not need to be part of the daily show"Head south to Resort and make your way to parking area. Stop at concrete road, take your vehicle out of 4WD as the turn into the parking is tight. Find a spot, grab a trolley near the gate and wheel your stuff down to the Villa.
