Can you drive to Tangalooma from Brisbane?
No, Tangalooma is located on Moreton Island, off the coast of Brisbane. There are no bridges to Moreton Island, there are no sealed roads on the Island and the only access is by boat.
To save time, convenience and cost we recommend all our guests take the passenger ferry to Tangalooma that departs from Holt St Pinkenba (Brisbane), 4 times daily. You can even hire one of our own 4WDs at the Resort if you'd prefer!
We strongly recommend only experienced 4WD drivers bring their vehicles to Moreton Island to ensure the protection & safety of you and your vehicle in our remote location.
However, if you are experienced at driving 4WD vehicles on the beach, and want to bring your car over to the Resort for your upcoming stay, we are happy to accommodate you. You will need to make your own arrangements to bring the 4WD over on the Moreton Island Vehicle Barge, operated by another provider.
